Elastilon Strong Self Adhesive Installation Membrane provides the first easy solution for installing solid hardwood (prefinished or unfinished) from 5/16" to as thick as 1", and engineered flooring on a concrete slab, above or below grade, without the need for complex subfloor constructions, nails or messy adhesives. A 6mil approved PE vapor barrier is required over all below grade concrete installations and any concrete floor that exceeds allowed moisture content levels. Elastilon can reduce floor installation time by up to 70%, and there are no expensive call backs.
Elastilon Strong’s permanently elastic cross-linked, closed-cell polyethylene construction, with a patented non-toxic, peel-and-stick nylon-reinforced adhesive upper surface, bonds directly with the hardwood, creating a solid, inseparable floor. This permanent seal creates continuous tension across the boards to reduce gapping, warping or buckling, which can typically occur with nailed or glued floors. While sealing the underside of the floor, Elastilon Strong allows for natural expansion and contraction inherent in hardwood floors with humidity changes. This helps to virtually eliminate cupping.
