Elastilon Self Adhesive Installation Membrane is the first simple, fast and cost-effective method of installing prefinished or unfinished, solid and engineered hardwood floors.
Flooring from 5/16” to as thick as 1” can be installed on, above or below grade, including over any concrete slab, without the need for complex subfloor constructions, nails or adhesives.
This can reduce floor installation time by up to 70%, and there are no call-backs. (The use of an approved vapor barrier over any concrete installation is mandatory if moisture readings exceed recommended levels. Below grade applications must also always include the use of an approved vapor barrier).
Elastilon Strong’s permanently elastic cross-linked, closed-cell polyethylene construction, with a patented non-toxic, peel-and-stick nylon-reinforced adhesive upper surface, bonds directly with the hardwood, creating a solid, inseparable floor. This permanent seal creates continuous tension across the boards to reduce gapping, warping or buckling, which can typically occur with nailed or glued floors. While sealing the underside of the floor, Elastilon Strong allows for natural expansion and contraction inherent in hardwood floors with humidity changes. This helps to greatly reduce cupping.
Elastilon Strong is ideal for those solid and soft hardwood species that have moderate to high expansion/contraction characteristics and works particularly well with all exotic species including glueless bamboo flooring.
Elastilon Strong also simplifies the installation of engineered wood floors and can be used over any existing wood floor, as well as vinyl sheet or tile and ceramics (excluding carpeting).
