The Elastilon family of Self Adhesive Installation Membranes now makes it possible to easily and quickly install any hardwood floor (prefinished or unfinished ) from 5/16" to as thick as 1", including exotics such as bamboo, on almost any surface including directly over concrete. Elastilon can be used with almost any solid and engineered wood flooring.
The science behind Elastilon is revolutionary. Elastilon is a permanent elastic cross-linked, closed-cell polyethylene construction, with a patented non-toxic, peel-and-stick nylon-reinforced adhesive upper surface. It bonds directly with the hardwood, creating a solid, inseparable floor. This permanent seal creates continuous tension across the boards to reduce gapping, warping or buckling, which can typically occur with nailed or glued floors. While sealing the underside of the floor, Elastilon allows for natural expansion and contraction inherent in hardwood floors with humidity changes.

Elastilon Strong
Elastilon Strong makes it possible to install virtually any solid hardwood and engineered flooring for commercial / residential / institutional applications on concrete slab, below and above grade, without the need for complex subfloor constructions, nails or heavy adhesives. Installation time can be cut by up to 70%, and the floor can be used immediately following installation.
Elastilon Strong is ideal for those solid and soft hardwood species that have moderate to high expansion/contraction characteristics, as Elastilon installed floors become a floating surface which will expand and contract according to humidity and temperature conditions, and thus will protect the hardwood floors from excessive gapping and/or cupping. Elastilon will work with your hardwood floor and not against it.
In demanding environments such as basements, a consistent room temperature of 60° to 80° F must be maintained, with a humidity level between 35 to 55% maximum. A vapor barrier of at least 6 mil PE must be used below grade as well as all poured concrete floors on or above grade that have not been tested for proper moisture content levels. Elastilon Sport
Elastilon Sport, in thicknesses of 3/16" or 3/8" (5mm or 10mm), is designed for sports floors, gymnasiums, fitness centers, running tracks, dance floors and any location where physical activity will take place.
Elastilon Sport eliminates the need for complex subfloor-constructions for these types of flooring applications, allowing solid hardwood to be installed on concrete slab, below and above grade. Elastilon’s density and thickness provide underfoot cushioning for comfort. Plus, it reduces both airborne and impact sound transmission.

Elastilon Lock
Elastilon Lock is self adhesive on both sides and simplifies the installation of solid or engineered hardwood on stair treads and risers as well as stair landings, walls and even ceilings. Can be used over virtually any substrate including a concrete slab, for practical and aesthetic function, as well as for reduction of airborne and impact sound transmission. Elastilon Lock is ideal for those wood species that have moderate to low expansion/contraction characteristics. All concrete applications require moisture content levels to be below 3.9%.

Please note a vapor barrier cannot be used with a double-sided self adhesive membrane. Therefore, Elastilon Lock cannot be used on below grade applications or over any concrete surface with moisture content higher than 3.9%. Moisture content levels must be determined prior to the installation of Elastilon Lock.
Elastilon Removable
Elastilon Removable is the newest addition to the Elastilon Family. It is a polyethylene foam membrane in the Elastilon Strong quality, but with an adhesive layer that has a Post-It feel. The combination of the foam membrane and the adhesive layer creates a high shear strength, with the results that floor coverings applied to it (for instance cork, linoleum, marmoleum, laminates, natural stone, and even carpet tiles, etc.) will be held firmly in place yet can be removed easily and quickly without causing damage. (For use in temporary installations only).
If the Elastilon Removable is kept in dustproof conditions and the protective coating is re-applied, it can be re-used for your next project. If the tack of the adhesive layer has reduced, it can be reactivated.
Elastilon Removable can be applied in many areas. It is ideal for trade fairs and exhibitions, shops, temporary sports or dancing facilities, laboratories, the hotel and catering industry and other rooms that must be put into service once again immediately after the floor has been removed or renovated.
